As announced by the LOLC Group, Ms. Nadika Opatha has been appointed to the Board of LOLC Life Assurance Ltd as an Executive Director with effect from 01st September 2022. Ms. Opatha, having joined LOLC Insurance in 2012 to setup the Bancassurance and Corporate sales operation within the company as its head, rose to the position of Head of Sales of LOLC Life Assurance company in 2017. She was recognized as the ‘Best National Sales Head’ at SLIM NASCO – National Sales Awards during 2018.

With the company performing at an exceptional level, Ms. Opatha was elevated to the position of Chief Operating Officer/Principal Officer in 2019 and subsequently appointed as the Chief Executive Officer/Principal Officer of LOLC Life Assurance Ltd in 2020. She had the honour of becoming the first female Chief Executive Officer in the Sri Lankan Insurance industry.

In 2021, she was appointed as the Executive Director of Serendib Microinsurance PLC, Cambodia recognising her role in setting up and initiating the operations of the first international Insurance arm of LOLC. She is an accomplished strategic leader in the field of Financial Services with more than 25 years of progressive experience, of which 20 years in the field of Insurance in Sri Lanka and North America.

She is well versed in financial services, having obtained her Bachelors (B.Sc.) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Colombo. She also holds a Diploma in Investment Funds, Sales and Advice from the Institute of Canadian Bankers Association. Ms. Opatha was an accomplished Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) achiever in 2007 and 2008, which is one of the highest qualifications in Life Insurance, globally.
