Maldives
In line with LOLC Group's global expansion strategy for its leisure business and recognizing the thriving tourism industry in the Maldives, the Group is making a substantial investment in the region. The recently inaugurated Barcelo Whale Lagoon Maldives, a luxurious resort with 100 rooms, is located in the South Ari Atoll. Additionally, Nasandhura Maldives, the capital's largest hotel, is on the verge of completion and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2024. This extensive development comprises 136 hotel rooms, 118 apartments, as well as office and shopping areas, positioning it as a flagship property and an iconic landmark in Male'. Furthermore, LOLC has entered into a partnership with Barcelo Hotel Group to construct a 470-room, star-class resort in the North Male Atoll, with construction set to commence shortly.
